Culinaria is a specialty tour operator, specifically focused on the growing interest in international culinary tourism. Culinaria is also a family-owned business and as such, its owners have invested in the company not only their capital but their hearts as well. Simply put, Culinaria aims to provide its clients with unique and unforgettable culinary and cultural experiences in exotic overseas locations.
Culinaria’s founders, Omar and Roxana González, are passionate about international travel, foreign cultures, and good food. Between them they have lived in several countries, traveled to countless others, and speak three languages. Omar has worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for over 20 years facilitating trade of food & beverage products in Central America and the Caribbean. Omar has also authored several market research reports and articles on agricultural trade, which have been featured in international publications and in U.S. Government websites. He has also received numerous prestigious awards and recognitions over the years for his work in marketing food products internationally. Roxana also brings many years of marketing and finance experience to Culinaria. She has marketed financial products, served as a financial analyst, and managed credit card services for leading companies in Central America. Born in Argentina and raised in the South of France, Roxana acquired her passion for cooking early on. Today, she still enjoys cooking for her family and learning about other cultures thru food and travel.
Given their background, Omar and Roxana take food seriously. They don’t just view food as nourishment, but rather as a vehicle for cultural exchange. In essence, when people share their food they also share their customs, their traditions, and their creativity. This cultural exchange is the main focus of Culinaria’s programs.
Culinaria is a duly registered limited liability company in the State of Florida (Fla. Seller of Travel Ref. No. ST36930). Culinaria is also an Allied Company member of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA), and a member of the International Culinary Tourism Association (ICTA).
